The new M2 MacBook Air was revealed by the giant iPhone maker in June. Now, the order date of this new Apple laptop is confirmed, as well as its shipment date and other major details.

The new MacBook Air version of 2022 is expected to have better performance than its predecessors since it has Apple's latest in-house M2 chipset. 

For those interested in purchasing the new advanced laptop, you can order it via Apple's official online store starting on Friday, July 8. 

"Beginning Friday, July 8, at 5 a.m. PDT, the completely redesigned MacBook Air with M2 will be available to order, and will start arriving to customers worldwide on Friday," said the tech giant manufacturer via its official Newsroom blog post. 

M2 MacBook Air: Shipment Schedule and Other Details

According to 9To5Mac's latest report, the shipment schedule for the M2 MacBook Air will begin on July 15, which is just seven days after the start of the laptop's order schedule.

When it comes to pricing, the new Apple laptop costs $1,199. Once you purchase the new MacBook Air version, you can either pick it up at the nearest Apple Store. 

The tech giant manufacturer allows consumers to pick up their online orders at an Express Pickup location. Aside from this, the iPhone maker also allows picking up your M2 MacBook Air without leaving your vehicle (curbside pickup option). 

Of course, you can still ask Apple to deliver it to your house. But, the arrival date will depend on the shipment efficiency of the tech giant maker.   

Is M2 MacBook Air Worth It? 

Of course, the new Macbook Air with an M2 chipset is worth it since it performs better than other older versions. 

For example, the new M2 MacBook Air is 1.4 times more efficient than the M1-based version in video editing, gaming, photo stitching, image upscaling, etc. 

On the other hand, the latest Apple laptop performs better against the Intel-based MacBook Air (15 times more efficient when it comes to the mentioned laptop activities above). 

Aside from this, the new M2 MacBook Air comes in four color options; starlight, silver, space gray, and midnight.
