Apple is set to unveil its sports-focused smartwatch in the future. According to Bloomberg tech journalist Mark Gurman, the upcoming Apple Watch Pro Sports model could be nearly $1,000, which is similar to the price of the iPhone 13 Pro when it first came out on the market.

The upcoming Apple Watch Pro is heavily tied up to sports, according to a recent report.

As per the early report from Bloomberg, Gurman referred the upcoming Apple Watch Pro to the company's $849 Apple Watch titanium-based model.

The tech writer claimed that the upcoming Apple Watch model could be the best rival for the Samsung Watch Pro 5, which is also the subject of the current rumors. The South Korean tech titan could reveal this wearable gadget in August.

"Given that the new high-end Apple Watch will pack in a slightly larger display, new sensors, and higher-end materials, I wouldn't be surprised if it starts closer to $900 to $999, the starting price of an iPhone 13 Pro. We're only a couple months away from finding out exactly where Apple lands."

The leaked "Samsung Pro" smartwatch could sport a rugged design along with a titanium case. It should be noted that it could potentially arrive with a bigger battery, as well as a larger screen compared to the previous versions.

The Apple Watch Pro is expected to compete with the pricier Samsung wearable, allegedly coming with LTE support. However, the report only suggests that it could sit around half the price of the upcoming sports-centered smartwatch.

With that being said, this particular Apple Watch aims to help athletes when it comes to giving them accurate findings on their bodies after doing extreme exercises.

Possible Monikers and Features

Gurman says that as of press time, this rumored smartwatch could possibly debut with one of the following names.

  • Apple Watch Max
  • Apple Watch Extreme
  • Apple Watch Explorer Edition

Since it's rumored to be introduced as an expensive smartwatch, Gurman still sticks to his intuition that this specific model will have a "Pro" on its name.

Macrumors wrote that it would boast a bigger diagonal screen size than the Apple Watch Series 7 and the upcoming Apple Watch Series 8. This means that it could potentially exceed the previous 1.9-inch display.

To make it more suited for a workout, the Cupertino giant could incorporate a shatter-resistant screen. The sports smartwatch might be water-resistant, as well. If this happens, this could be a perfect wearable for swimmers and divers.

Aside from the so-called Apple Watch Pro, the Apple Watch SE 2022 and Apple Watch Series 8 will also come in the next few months.

As of the moment, we need to wait for Apple's official announcement regarding its specs and features. It will still take some time, but we will get there eventually.
