SpaceX Starlink Satellite Internet in Georgia

As per a news story by Space News, Georgia is the most recent country to have approved the satellite broadband service of Starlink.

It appears that the application of SpaceX to start the services of Starlink in Georgia got approved swiftly.

Space News says in its report that Starlink applied for permission to carry out its satellite internet services in the Eastern European country last July 8.

The Georgian National Communications Commission or ComCom says that the application comes after the regulatory officials of Georgia had a meeting with the representatives of Starlink before June came to an end.

ComCom further explains why the satellite internet service of Starlink is critically necessary for the Eastern European nation.

The regulatory body of Georgia states that "Starlink is especially important and interesting in mountainous regions as well as in settlements without broadband internet coverage."

ComCom says that the arrival of Starlink broadband service in the country should give "high-speed internet" access.

It also claims that the debut of Starlink has allowed other locations with similar geography to access high-speed internet as well.

On top of that, the Musk-led firm also markets its broadband service as ideal for remote locations or in rural communities, wherein internet connection is typically unstable or completely inaccessible.

According to the latest report by Drive Tesla Canada, the availability map of the satellite internet service already hints that by next year more locations in Georgia are getting its high-speed broadband services.

It is worth noting, though, that locations near the vicinity of the northern border of Russia will be missing out on its satellite internet service.

While Starlink has been attempting to reach far-flung areas, it specifically notes that it has no plans on providing its internet service to locations like North Korea, Russia, and China, to name a few.

The list of places that Starlink does not have plans to conquer includes Venezuela, Belarus, Iran, Afghanistan, and Syria.

Space News says in the same report that Starlink was supposed to start its services in the Philippines before June 30 or before its former President Rodrigo Duterte ended his term.

But due to some issues in the construction of its gateway, its arrival in Southeast Asia has been delayed.
