Confirmed! Apple rolled out its new live Apple Music Sessions on Friday, July 15. To kick-start the event, fans can check out Carrie Underwood's performances and Tenille Townes' performances.

Apple Launches Apple Music Sessions

According to MarketScreener, Apple Music Sessions allow fans to see their favorite artists perform a short selection of tracks, usually from their own hits and covers of personal favorites.

Each performance is recorded in Spatial Audio, and it is also presented in the video.

The session was launched in order for the Spatial Audio, and the companion live performance music videos to be recorded in Apple Music's studios worldwide.

The performances of the first two artists, Carrie Underwood and Tenille Townes, were recorded in Apple Music's studios in Nashville, Tennessee.

Carrie Underwood said in a statement that she had performed two stripped-down versions of her songs and a song cover. Fans can listen to "Ghost Story," "Blown Away," and a cover of Ozzy Osbourne's "Mama, I'm Coming Home."

As for Tenille Townes, she performed the songs "'Same Road Home," and "Somebody's Daughter." She also did a cover of Etta Jame's "At Last."

According to Apple Insider, the future artists that will be featured in Apple Music Sessions are Ronnie Dunn and Ingrid Andress and other country artists. The tech giant plans to add other genres to the Apple Music Sessions too.

Apple Music Increases Fee

As Apple Music Sessions rolled out, the tech giant increased the price of Apple Music's plans. The student plan in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada went from $4.99 to $5.99 a month.

Even though Apple has not acknowledged the changes, the new pricing information is currently available on Apple Music's webpage.

Students subscribed to Apple Music have also begun seeing the price increase on the subscription pages of iPhones and iPads. It is unclear when Apple implemented these changes, but according to 9to5Mac, it was likely rolled out between June 21 and June 23.

What is Apple Music's Student Plan?

Apple Music's student plan was created for those who are enrolled in a college or university. It was previously the most affordable full-featured plan that the platform offered.

The pricing for the $9.99 a month per person and the $14.99 a month for the family plan remain unchanged, and the same goes for the $4.99 a month for the voice plan.

Apple's Music price increase is not just seen in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada.

In June, Apple increased the subscription price for students across several countries, including New Zealand, Australia, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Indonesia, and Kenya.

It is unclear whether Apple plans to raise student costs in other countries.

Aside from its subscription plans, the tech giant will also increase the price of its upcoming iPhone 14 device, according to Forbes.

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max may cost around $1,099 and $1,199, respectively.
