A group of developers from CD Projekt Red have decided to leave the company and start their own one. The former developers will reportedly be working on a samurai game that is set to take place in feudal Japan.

Developers Left CD Projekt Red to Work on Their Own Games

According to an article by PC Invasion, a number of developer groups have left the company over the years in order to form their very own studio and own games. Just recently, they decided to announce their plans of potentially creating a Samurai adventure game that is reportedly based in feudal Japan.

The game is expected to feature certain cooperative and competitive elements, although a lot of details are still limited as of press time. There is also no word of what the game might be called, and developers were only willing to announce the premise of what they are trying to work to along with other principles that the studio thinks are important in order for them to reach success.

Developers Gain Experience in Both Indie and AAA Games

As per the developers, they have been able to gain experience in the production of popular titles like "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" and even the more recent "Cyberpunk 2077." The developers also noted that over the course of the past five years, as a RealTime Warriors studio, they have been able to create hundreds of different film sequences, animations, characters, and worlds for the needs of different indie and AAA games.

The studio's landing page notes that they are building an addictive, dark world that is going to be full of secrets, interesting characters, and conflicts that will consume "the Land of the Rising Sun."

Details Regarding the Upcoming Samurai Game

As further explained in the story by The Gamer, the game set in feudal Japan will be using Unreal Engine 5 at its very core, and on top of professionals coming from CD Projekt Red, they will also be working with "fresh blood specialists."

The first project of the new team is reportedly in the earliest production stages, and only artwork that shows aesthetics has been uploaded. As per the publication, players will take on the role of kunoichi and shinobi warriors in order to fight other assassins.
