If this is true, there's a high chance that the health tech can encourage more people to get their vaccine shots.
The latest COVID-19 vaccine patch is being tested by experts at the University of Queensland. They are using the high-density micro-array patch of Vaxxas, a Brisbane-based biotechnology firm.
During their study, they used the Hexapor SARS-CoV-2 spike vaccine together with Vaxxas' micro-array patch, administering the medicine to mice.

According to News.Com.Au's latest report, the Australian researchers working on the new COVID-19 vaccine patch discovered that this method is 11 times more efficient than the needle-reliant vaccines, especially against the contagious variant Omicron.

"The high-density microarray patch is a vaccine delivery platform that precisely delivers the vaccine into the layers of the skin which are rich in immune cells," explained Dr. Christopher McMillan of the University of Queensland via The Weekend Australian.
He added that the new vaccine patch is expected to be an effective new protection option against the new COVID-19 variants.
As of writing, many individuals still prefer not to get their vaccine shots, especially those with trypanophobia (the fear of needles).
New COVID-19 Patch Can Use Other Vaccines?
Dr. Muller said their new COVID-19 vaccine patch tech would soon be a new weapon against the deadly novel coronavirus.
He added that this is a big deal since new variants are still being discovered across the globe.
As of press time, involved researchers claimed that their new health tech could also use other types of COVID-19 vaccines.
These include DNA, sub-unit, inactivated virus, and conjugate COVID-19 vaccines.
David Hoey, the CEO of Vaxxas, said they are now expanding their production capacity to conduct large-scale trials for their vaccine patch tech.
Recently, CDC claimed that the United States COVID-19 vaccine utilization is flawed.
Meanwhile, the FDA previously allowed the COVID-19 vaccine for young people between six months and five years old.
