The release date for the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II" beta has finally been confirmed to happen on September 16 of this year. The game is expected to be accessible through PC and Xbox only, but the Call of Duty website says it will still be accessible on PlayStation.

According to the Call of Duty blog post, the beta version of the game will be playable by gamers from September 16 up to 26. The beta dates, as well as timing, were said to be "locked and loaded."

As per the website, the schedule will roll out in four stages, with the first one being its early access for PlayStation which will take place from September 16 to 17. The next stage will be the open beta, which is expected to happen from September 18 until 20 on the PlayStation.

Game is Expected to Officially Launch on October 28

When it comes to the crossplay beta, the game will reportedly provide early access for the Xbox and PC from September 22 to 23, while the PlayStation will continue its open beta. From September 24 to 26, however, the open beta is expected to happen on all platforms.

As per the post, the game is expected to launch on October 28. Infinity Ward was reportedly the first to share the news during the "Call of Duty" League Championship tournament or CDL Champs.

Beta Version is Expected to Include a New Map Called the Grand Prix

Just like with the previous betas, the dates are reportedly separated by console as well as whether gamers will preorder the game or not. Aside from the announcement of the beta, Infinity Ward reportedly also teased an upcoming multiplayer map that is known as the Grand Prix, which will see players battle it out on a racetrack.

According to the story by The Verge, the new map is expected to be available for play during the beta version of the game. As per Infinity Ward, if gamers have not yet pre-ordered the game, they will still have a chance to receive a beta code that will allow them to enjoy early access to the upcoming title's beta mode.

How to Get the Code to Join the Beta

Although there were already a number of codes that were given out during the tournament, players will still have chances to get their own codes via different streamers as well as YouTubers leading up to the start date of the beta.

The article notes that they were able to get their first glimpse at the Modern Warfare II back in June, but Infinity Ward was set to reveal more about the upcoming game during the Call of Duty: Next event which will happen on September 15.
