Apple's iCloud class action lawsuit now requires the renowned iPhone maker to pay a whopping $14 million settlement to its subscribers in the United States.

The class action suit arises from the allegation that the Cupertino-based tech giant has breached its own service terms and conditions.
And as such, iCloud users have brought Apple to court.
Apple iCloud Class Action Suit
But this time around, as per the latest news story by 9to5Mac, the iCloud class action suit against Apple has finally been settled in court.
The renowned tech giant has agreed to settle the case to select subscribers of its iCloud subscription service by paying a staggering $14.8 million.
The class action suit alleges that Apple has breached the iCloud Terms and Conditions for allegedly storing the data of its users on non-Apple servers.
The suit further alleges that the iPhone maker had stored the data of its subscribers on third-party servers rather than keeping them safe on its own.
However, 9to5Mac notes in its report that the tech behemoth still denies the accusation from the class action suit.
But despite that, the iPhone maker has already agreed to pay the million dollars worth of settlement to skip going into a long grueling trial in court.
Meanwhile, according to a recent report by Patently Apple, a federal judge has already approved the settlement of the Cupertino giant.
Who Is Eligible for the Apple iCloud Settlement?
Apple has now settled the class action suit against the tech firm. Thus, it is paying a select number of subscribers of iCloud, specifically those subscribed between September 16, 2015, and January 31, 2016.

To receive the settlement, 9to5Mac reports that eligible iCloud users no longer need to join any class to receive payment.
Instead, the email used for the iCloud storage during the eligible period will receive a confirmation that they are automatically a class member.
So, it means that iCloud subscribers will no longer have to do anything to be eligible for the payout during the said period.
The best they could do is patiently wait for an email that provides explicit details regarding the Class Payment.
iCloud users affected by the class action suit, who are still subscribers of the service during the distribution of the payout, will receive the Class Payment on their Apple account.
But on the other hand, those who are no longer iCloud subscribers during the distribution would get their payout by check.
