Contactless Payments in More Branches in California

Amazon One is a payment system that launched in 2020 and it helps with self-checkouts and different technology available in its stores. California is one of the many states that it is available to, with other branches in different locations offering the technology.

There is also a feature called "Just Walk Out" where the public can figuratively step out of the store with the goods they picked up.

Amazon's Self-Checkout Stores

Amazon One first brought the palm print scanning feature to Whole Foods locations in Seattle, and the company debuted this technology last 2021. It delivers on giving a special line to people that would no longer need to go face-to-face with a cashier that would scan their items and process their payments in the queue.

The feature is available for all those that would register on Amazon One, and it would bring their biometrics connected to their preferred payment method, may it be credit or debit cards. It means that through the palm of their hands, they can buy anything and take it out of the store without any hassle, and it helps in skipping lines and handling the goods themselves.

The palm print scanners for checkout were mostly available in the Seattle area where Amazon's headquarters is located, but now it is expanding to other states, especially the Golden State. Nevertheless, it provides an easy checkout procedure that would allow people to access different products without the hassle and queuing up in lines.
