Sega Classic Games Movie Adaptation

And this time, as per the news story by PC Gamer, the Japanese gaming giant is looking to bring two of its iconic titles to the world of movies as it forges a partnership with Picturestart.

Some of the most iconic games of Sega during the 1990s include the Genesis game "Comix Zone" and the music gaming title "Space Channel 5."

Several decades since these games hit the video gaming world in the 90s, Sega is now turning them into the next game-to-film adaptation.

The video game giant is working with Picturestart, which is now gearing up to release the Borderlands film, to make the movie adaptation of its gaming titles a reality.

'Space Channel 5'Film

Sega debuted the sci-fi music game known as "Space Channel 5" way back in 1999, which centers on a reporter who goes by the name Ulala.

The reporter was grappling with an alien invasion. And to deal with these extra-terrestrial creatures, Ulala needs to dance to the rhythm of the music.

While the classical game carries the "Space Channel 5" title, the film adaptation is rebranding it as merely Channel 5.

According to a recent report by Hollywood Reporter, the movie adaption of the 90s sci-fi games now follows the story of a fast-food chain crew, who would, later on, help Ulala to dance their way against the looming alien takeover.

PC Games notes that the director of the Far Cry 5 promotional short film, Barry Battles, along with Nir Paniry, is writing the movie adaptation of the 90s Sega music game.

'Comix Zone' Movie

On top of the "Space Channel 5" movie adaption, Sega is also bringing its 1995 game, "Comix Zone" to the theaters.

The 90s Sega Genesis game is also getting a trimmed-down title for its movie version, making it simply "Zone."

The movie adaptation centers on a writer who got sucked in the final issue of his comic book series.

The writer of animated shows, such as Young Justice and some Transformer hits, Mae Catt, is writing the movie adaptation of "Comix Zone."
