Bloomberg first reported that "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic" are making changes to its development, particularly as it jumps ship from Aspyr, who is already working on the remake's experience. As per the reports, Aspyr failed to meet the expectations set on them for the game by Sony and Lucas Games.

The companies are looking at new developers and have already chosen Saber Interactive for this remake of the old classic.

Aspyr is notably one of the developers for the original game that was released to the world in 2003, but Sony and Lucas Games are not waiting for the company's many delays in the game's development.

According to ComicBook Gaming, Aspyr's take on the game saw an indefinite delay for its remaster development.

'Star Wars KOTOR' Remake: Delay for its Release?

The reports claim that despite jumping ship and choosing a new game developer to lead "KOTOR's" remaster, there would still be a delay in its release for the public. "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic" is still far from its launch and is not yet near the completion of the game's remaster in time for this year.

The game's release date is unknown, but expectations for it borders for next year, extending to later dates.

'Star Wars KOTOR' and its Legacy

Last September 2021, the PlayStation Showcase revealed that there is a remake coming for one of the best games from the "Star Wars" franchise coming to the PlayStation 5 and PC platforms. The remaster of the "Knights of the Old Republic" gave the world and its fans a chance to see the game again, but this time for the modern experience.

The old announcement confirmed Electronic Arts and Aspyr to be joining hands in delivering the new experience for all gamers soon.

The game was initially released in July 2003, almost two decades since its original release for the Xbox platform and later for the PC.

It also arrived on the iOS platform in 2013 and is one of the top-rated RPG mobile titles

Still, gamers want to see the game for the modern console and PC platforms that bring a different experience for the title, especially as it adapts to the current offers in the gaming world. Its change in developers might mean significant changes to the game, especially its availability for the world that might see delays soon.
