Apple is set to release the Apple Watch Series 8 in an updated selection of color options, and it will be available across all types of casing finishes, according to ShrimpApplePro.

Apple Watch 8's Colors

The Apple Watch Series 8 is expected to be available in a reduced number of color options, with three Watch Series 7 finishes to be discontinued.

According to MacRumors, Apple Watch Series 8 will not receive any new color options compared to previous years.

The Watch Series 8 features the S8 chip, a body temperature sensor for enhanced sleep tracking and fertility planning. It will also feature a Low Power Mode to prolong the smartwatch's battery life.

The new Apple Watch Series 8 will cost around $399, while the GPS and Cellular version will cost about $499.

Watch Series 8 Aluminum

According to Singapore Times, the aluminum Apple Watch Series 8 will not be available in Blue and Green finishes, making Red the only non-neutral option on the Apple Watch.

The Apple Watch Series 7 will now be available in Midnight, Starlight, Red, Blue, and Green. Meanwhile, Apple Watch Series 8 will only be available in Midnight, Starlight, Red, and Silver.

Tom's Guide also suggests that Apple will relaunch the Silver finish from Apple Watch Series 6 for Watch Series 8.

After the announcement of the Watch Series in 2021, the device's color options came under fire by customers and critics on social media who were not happy with the new hue.

Changing the Color Options

With the Watch Series 7, Apple changed Silver and Gold with Starlight and Space Gray with Midnight. Apple also made this change on the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13.

Many people were unhappy with Starlight because it is too warm, while some users did not like Gold because it is too desaturated.

Since then, the tech giant swapped the Silver color options on new versions of the iPad mini and iPad Air for Starlight.

Silver aluminum would only be available with Pro devices like MacBook Pro and iPad Pro.

Stainless Steel Watch Series 8

According to 9to5Mac, Apple will offer the stainless steel Apple Watch Series 8 in the same three color options as the Series 7: Silver, Gold, and Graphite.

These are the same stainless steel finishes the tech giant has now offered for two previous Apple Watch models.

High-End Apple Watch

Apple is also expected to launch a high-end Apple Watch model in late 2022 featuring an all-new ruggedized design, a 7% larger display, a larger battery with longer workout times, and a flat display.

Like the Apple Watch models from the past couple of years, the new Apple Watch variant is expected to feature a casing made of titanium.

Apple did not reveal any specific information about what color options this upcoming high-end Apple Watch could be available in.
