Nevertheless, DoorDash claims that the stolen data is only partial and does not impact the company significantly.

DoorDash announced via a news release that a third-party vendor it is a partner with, faced a phishing attack on their platform, and it led to a small percentage of the company's data also getting compromised. The food delivery company assured the public that no critical information was taken by the threat actors, ensuring that their data were safe.

The company did not reveal how many people and delivery workers were affected by this breach, sticking to its claims that a small percentage of its registered users were affected. After getting alerts from the incident, it immediately disabled those trying to access its network, claims DoorDash.

CNET's report further said that DoorDash claims to have no sensitive information compromised in this attack, with its customers and delivery workers' data, including email addresses. The phishing attack launched towards its third-party vendor also got access to some of DoorDash's delivery tools, hence the ability to steal employee data.

Nevertheless, it is part of a vast scheme that has already gotten the attention of law enforcement.

DoorDash and its Services

DoorDash is a famous company that answers late-night cravings or other requests from customers from different restaurants and deliveries for the public. It also gives the public a chance to do part-time jobs delivering food for the company, but recent gas price hikes affect its workforce, where some have already left.

Opening the app and looking for a take-out order or having items delivered is an easy feat to do now, and with services like DoorDash, UberEats, and other similar offers, people get an assortment of meals for their needs. However, as much as it is a logistics company, DoorDash is also focusing on tech, with a previous glitch in its systems resulting in hundreds of free food for customers.

Nevertheless, it is also subject to breaches and attacks, where it sees many threats looming against its service.

A partner service for the company suffered a breach, and DoorDash's data got affected in this recent attack, with the company already assuring everyone that is part of the service that their information is safe. The company is working on ways to secure its data for those small percentage whose data are already out in the open, as it presents a security risk for all.
