On Tuesday, Aug. 30, a known leaker Evan Blass revealed the design of the handheld device that Logitech and Tencent are working on for cloud gaming through Twitter

The handheld device called "Logitech G Gaming Handheld" is expected to be introduced in the market in late 2022 and will have Logitech's hardware and Tencent's software, according to Channel News.

Logitech and Tencent's Device Leaked

According to 9to5Mac, Evan Blass tweeted three images of Logitech G Gaming Handheld.

The authenticity of the device was confirmed after Logitech immediately filed a DMCA complaint to remove the images from the platform.

It is unclear whether Blass will face the consequences of the leak of the device's design.

What the Logitech G Gaming Handheld Looks Like

According to The Verge, the Logitech G Gaming Handheld is the same size as the Nintendo Switch and has a built-in UI for easy scrolling.

The leaked image also showed several apps installed on the device, such as Chrome, YouTube, Xbox, Nvidia, and Steam.

The device also has Google Play access so that users can run the latest mobile game and multiple cloud gaming services. The availability of Google Play was a surprise for customers as Logitech did not say if the device would support Android.

According to Trusted Reviews, the device has two off-set analog thumb sticks, a D-Pad, and X, Y, B, and A buttons. There are also four buttons at the front for Home, Menu, Context Menu, and Logitech.

There are also two trigger buttons and two bumper buttons similar to gaming controllers.

However, the leaked images did not show the size of the device's display, but one leaked image showed a mute switch and microSD card expansion slot.

Qualcomm's G3X Platform

In 2021, Qualcomm launched its Snapdragon G3x chipset that can run the latest mobile games. This chipset will be used by Logitech for its upcoming handheld device, according to The Verge.

The Snapdragon G3x will feature Adreno GPU allowing the Logitech G Gaming Handheld to support games running at 144 frames per second with 1-bit HDR.

Tom's Guide says the chipset has cooling systems and gaming controller support. It also supports sub-6Hz and mmWave-based 5G connectivity. With Qualcomm's FastConnect 6900 Mobile Connectivity feature, the chipset supports Wi-Fi 6 and 6E.

As for the audio, Qualcomm's Snapdragon Sound features should provide an immersive experience for games. At the same time, the chipset will include video out for connecting to a 4K display on the Logitech device.

The chipset will also allow for tethering with mixed reality headsets so that the handheld device can drive multi-screen experiences.

Unfortunately, the Snapdragon G3X chipset won't be released to the general public as it is aimed at game makers like Logitech.

Both Logitech and Tencent did not reveal the estimated price of the handheld device, but fans can expect the announcement before the end of 2022.
