A report from Electreck tells us that Mercedes-Benz finally announced pricing and packaging details about its recently unveiled all-electric EQS SUV. The same report tells us that despite being assembled in the US, both the battery and the all-electric SUV are too exorbitant for US buyers to be eligible for federal tax incentives.

The all-electric EQS SUV is here

Mercedes-EQ will add a third vehicle to its inventory. The EQS 450 4MATIC SUV arrives today, in addition to the EQS 450+ SUV and EQS 580 4MATIC SUV, which will go on sale this fall. Three well-defined trim levels for each vehicle will be available for the US market. These trim levels make each model identifiable by its particular features, together with a variety of extra options for further modification.

The new Mercedes vehicle will be available in three trim levels: Premium, Exclusive, and Pinnacle. Each is expected to hit American dealerships in the latter half of 2022. The high-end automaker did make the price and other crucial information public.

Every trim level has the normal standard equipment, including all of Mercedes' active and passive Driver Assistance Systems. A 12.8-inch OLED multimedia touchscreen in portrait position is stated to be standard equipment on the EQS 450+ and 450 4MATIC SUV trim levels.

The Mercedes BMUX Hyperscreen, which has three displays merged fluidly under a single 56-inch curved glass surface, is also included in the EQS 580 4MATIC SUV, which is the most expensive trim option available across the three groups. Starting from $104,400, the all-new EQS SUV will arrive in U.S. dealerships in fall 2022.

The MBUX system, which is standard equipment in this new range of Mercedes SUVs, features a revolutionary navigation system that was created using Electric Intelligence. According to a Green Car Reports story, his EQ-specific navigation system easily plans the shortest and most practical route while taking charging pauses along the way. It also reacts quickly to traffic jams or changes in driving behavior.

In contrast to a conventional range calculator, this navigation system with Electric Intelligence takes into account prior data. The vehicle's energy requirement is always automatically calculated in order to determine the best routes.

Considerations include topography, route, ambient temperature, speed, and the requirement for heating and cooling. Other factors include the accessibility, capacity, and payment options of Mercedes-Benz charging stations, as well as the traffic flow along the desired route.

Mercedes-Benz eyes Zero-Emission mobility

Teslarati tells us that owners of Mercedes EQS SUVs will also receive two years of free charging through Mercedes me Charge, the company's own charging infrastructure. Moreover, EQS SUV owners will receive an unlimited number of cost-free 30-minute DC fast charging sessions thanks to a partnership between Mercedes-Benz and Electrify America.

The Auto Channel also shares that Mercedes-Benz has taken a big step toward zero-emission mobility with the release of the EQS SUV. Along with the most recent models produced at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the EQS SUV is completely CO2-neutral.

Other SUVs bearing the logo of the German automaker were also produced at this location starting back in 1997. Also, with EQS SUV and its batteries being produced locally at the brand-new, cutting-edge battery facility in Bibb County, Alabama, the plant has now gone electric.
