On Wednesday, Sept. 8, Apple unveiled its latest lineup of devices, including four iPhone 14 models.
Although the price increased in other key markets including Japan, the UK, Australia and Germany due to inflation and global recession, the cost of the devices remains the same in the United States.
iPhone 14 Price in the US
According to CNBC, Apple's biggest product-launch event of 2022, dubbed Far Out, introduced the iPhone 14, new AirPods Pro earbuds, and the latest Apple Watch upgrade, including the Ultra model.
The iPhone 14 retains the general look of the older models while getting camera enhancements, satellite-messaging features, and a new interface called Dynamic Island.
The iPhone 14 base model will start at $799, the same amount it charged for iPhone 13 in 2021. The most expensive model, iPhone 14 Pro Max, starts at $1,099, which is the same price as the iPhone 13 Pro Max in 2021.

Apple's decision to not increase the price of the iPhone 14 models came as a surprise because of the current economic climate in the US.
The tech giant believes that with the new features and the lack of a price hike, it can ward off competition from Samsung, Xiaomi, and other smartphone rivals.
Apple accounts for half of the smartphone sales in the US, and the company is building on those gains.
Increased Prices in Other Countries
Even though iPhone customers in the US won't see a price increase in the devices, international customers will have to pay more to purchase the latest iPhone 14 series.
According to Fortune, an increased price on iPhone 14 devices will test Apple's brand power overseas.
In the UK, customers will see an $80 increase as the iPhone 14 will cost $970. Customers in Australia will see a $33 increase as the iPhone 14 will cost $944.
In Japan, there will be a $146 increase in the device, as the iPhone 14 will cost $832. Meanwhile, in Germany, customers will see a $100 increase as the new iPhone14 will cost $995.
Analysts said that part of the reason behind the price increase in the key markets is the increasing costs of components and the appreciation of the US dollar versus their respective currencies.
Neil Shah, a partner at Counterpoint Research, said that the euro and yen had depreciated a bit, thus translating to higher prices.
No Price Increase in China
According to The New York Times, Apple also kept the price of the iPhone the same in China. The tech giant's revenue in China was its third-biggest region by sales in the second quarter of 2022.
The iPhone 14 is priced at $862 in China, with the iPhone 14 Pro Max priced at $1,200.
China has suffered from the resurgence of COVID-19, and authorities are sticking to their zero-COVID policy, which has led to months-long lockdowns of major cities, including Shanghai and Chengdu.
The COVID-19 restrictions and the lockdowns have hurt the country's economy and affected several manufacturing sites.
