Sept. 13's Nintendo Direct has recently concluded, and the video game company has once again delivered the most exciting news for Nintendo fans. One of the highlights of the latest Nintendo Direct is the reveal of "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom," which is the sequel to "Breath of the Wild." Another is Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto's confirmation that "Pikmin 4" is coming to the console next year.

After a Decade, Pikmin 3 Gets a Sequel

The Pikmin series of games is probably Nintendo's most adorable lineup of games in terms of design and overall gameplay (Kirby, too, yes). This real-time strategy game series created by legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto and published by Nintendo has been capturing the hearts of many console gamers ever since 2001.

The games revolve around directing a swarm of plant-like creatures known as Pikmin to collect items by destroying obstacles, avoiding hazards, and fighting creatures dangerous to both the player character and the Pikmin. This game series has been educating generations of plant lovers with its valuable lessons about protecting flora and fauna.

Despite being left in the dark in June, Nintendo Directs, "Pikmin 4," is finally given the spotlight it deserves in the most recent Direct. Pikmin fans have been waiting for the Pikmin sequel for ten years. From the looks of the announcement trailer, the game will be arriving with a touch of advanced gameplay and graphics. We will be explaining it further.

CNET tells us that "Pikmin 4" will be played from the perspective of a Pikmin. This worm's-eye-view of the game gives 'Pikmin 4' a really exciting feature to it. Players could probably still control hordes of Pikmin while acting as one of them rather than the isometric viewpoint of previous titles.

'Pikmin 4' Arrives in 2023

The last time we received a mainline Pikmin installment on the Wii U, "Gangnam Style" was still the most popular dance craze, and the world's first iPad just came out. "Pikmin 4" will bring a lot of nostalgia and flowery fun.

The recent Nintendo Direct did not reveal any gameplay. Shigeru Miyamoto only assured us that the game is slated to launch next year. According to IGN, Shigeru Miyamoto stated in 2015 that the game was "very close to completion." By 2016, it had dropped down the priority list and was still progressing in 2017.

Pikmin Bloom, Nintendo's Newest AR Game

In the same Nintendo Direct, Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that Nintendo and "Pokemon GO" maker Niantic is set to introduce "Pikmin Bloom," a new augmented reality mobile game.

The announcement says that "Pikmin Bloom" will allow players to raise Pikmins by collecting honey and walking the best distance. Players can also command their owned Pikmin to plant flowers on the locations that they have visited and track their total footsteps made in the game.
