Now that the "FIFA 23" player ratings are available, many fans are really not holding back when it comes to where their favorite football players are placed on the highly anticipated list.

Although the newest version of the well-liked video game won't be available until Sept. 27, fans are already getting their first look at the players' overall rankings today.

Latest FIFA 23 Rankings Stirs Divided Public Opinion

According to 90min, Manchester City dominated the list, with Cristiano Ronaldo dropping in ratings and losing the top spot to Kevin De Bruyne. Lionel Messi leads the way with 91 points, but he is joined this year by Karim Benzema, Robert Lewandowski, and teammate Kylian Mbappe.

There are several 89-rated players, including six Premier League players: Son Heung-min, Harry Kane, Casemiro, Ederson, Alisson, and N'Golo Kante. Along this list goes Neymar representing Ligue 1.

The player ratings for the FIFA 23 Premier League were recently made public, and as per tradition, not everyone is pleased. Top talent from all over the world is represented in the player ranking, but some fans claim that deserving players have not received any upgrades. The top 5 player ratings, allegedly defrauded of a higher overall ranking, are listed below.

5 Players with Debatable Overall Rating

Erling Haaland

Before Haaland decided to enter Man City this summer, the Norweigian was a force to be reckoned with in the Bundesliga. For the second consecutive year, the 22-year-old player was given a questionable rating.

According to Sportskeeda, the player's overall rating remains at 88, with no significant changes to his stats. Haaland's FIFA 23-player card has improved defensive stats while remaining unchanged in terms of pace, passing, shooting, and dribbling.

Son Heung-min

Despite being outstanding on the field last season, his joint Golden Boot award with Mohamed Salah for scoring 23 goals, Son did not improve his numbers in the recent FIFA game. Heung Min Son's rating is 89 this year, as it was last year. According to Football London, Son had a sensational campaign at Spurs, directly contributing to 32 goals in 35 appearances.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

His FIFA Rating on FIFA 22 was 87, with a Potential Rating of 92 (+5 Growth). He had a high attacking work rate and a medium defensive work rate, but his FIFA 23 attributes were low.

Amid being a mainstay of Liverpool's defense and attack, Alexander-Arnold did not garner any major stat upgrade. The right-back has an excellent rating of 87 in FIFA 23, but fans are dissatisfied with his stagnant ratings.

Ilkay Gundogan

According to The Athletic, Ilkay Gundogan has been chosen as Manchester City's new club captain after leading the team to its most comfortable victories last season. Unfortunately, Gundogan's player rating of 85 remains unchanged, which is quite hard to explain. Especially given his performance in recent Premier League games.

Reece James

As per Sportskeeda, EA apparently gave him a much-needed stat boost, but fans believe it is insufficient. While his overall rating increased by three points, giving him an 84 2k23 rating, his individual statistics do not match his overall rating.

FIFA 23 ratings are here, as are passionate fans' undervalued or sometimes overrated debates. Typically, FIFA ratings are released in stages, with the top-ranked players being released at the end. However, this year, EA Sports immediately chose to release the top players' stats and names.
