General Motors is creating a prototype for the US military's needs, and it will focus on delivering Ultium battery packs for electric vehicles that the troops will use for its transition. It is a massive step for the US military to replace its service vehicles for "garrison and operational environments," aiming to utilize clean energy and reduce fossil fuel use. 

The US is going through a change towards clean energy, and its troops are a part of it, with GM delivering on battery packs. 

GM to Deliver Ultium Battery Packs for the Military

General Motors announced that it is the chosen manufacturer to provide battery prototypes to the Department of Defense, centering on the United States' military for its needs. The company said that it is now developing a new Ultium prototype that will center on a scalable design that will bring a new focus to the military's needs for electrification. 

The company will center its development on GM Defense, a subsidiary that centers on military development from the General Motors company. 

GM pointed out that it is developing its Ultium batteries for many needs, and its soon contributions to the US military are part of the expansion of its technology.

US Military to Go Electric? Soon with GM

According to Engadget, the United States military is soon going electric with its vehicles, and it aims to utilize them for the future of its operations for the country. The United States is adopting a 2030 mandate for an all-electric future, and the US military is a part of this campaign, with GM powering its devices with the Ultium power pack for its EVs.

General Motors is famous for its Ultium battery pack that delivers a unique experience with its clean energy features, delivering on its EVs' mobility and power. It is a known feature on most of its new EVs coming to the world, centering on the drivetrain and battery packs that brings the GM experience for all users. 

The company first delivered this feature for the Hummer EV that is now available for users to experience and utilize for their needs.

However, one of the earliest EVs to receive the Ultium power pack is the Cadillac LYRIQ, one of its brands' first take on an electric vehicle crossover coming soon for the world. It centers on the company's earliest EVs that should have been arriving by late 2022, but it already changed the EV's availability for next year. 

Now, not only would GM's creations are receiving its Ultium batteries and scalable battery packs, but the United States military is looking to change to clean energy with the company's technology. And while the military is not exactly looking into purchasing EVs from GM, it will still use the company's proprietary tech for its needs.
