Google has approved Donald Trump's Truth Social app for its Play Store, the official app marketplace for Android users.

While Google has previously barred the Trump social network from its Play Store, it now looks like it will soon be easier to download on Android.

Google and Trump's Truth Social

According to a news story by CNBC, the tech giant has previously rejected the Truth Social app from its Play Store, citing issues with the content moderation of the Trump social media.

The tech behemoth behind Android says that the social media app of the ex-POTUS has violated its internal policies.

Google explained that it requires listings on its app store to "effectively moderate user-generated content and remove objectionable posts such as those that incite violence.

And given that, Truth Social had to update its content moderation policies within the platform to be given a chance to be listed on the Play Store.

The tech juggernaut said the social media service of Trump has agreed to moderate posts that might incite violence, wherein users could end up being kicked out from the platform, CNBC reports.

Although Google required Truth Social to come up with some sort of content moderation, making it unavailable in the Play Store, it now draws millions of users in the United States.

CNBC highlights that roughly 44% of Android users in the US have installed the Truth Social app. It comes despite it waiting for the approval of Google.

It is worth noting that the Trump social media has been available to iPhone users via the Apple App Store since the service debuted early this year.

Truth Social is Coming to Google Play Store for Android

This time, it looks like Android users would no longer have to sideload the Truth Social app as it is on its way to the Google Play Store.

As per the latest report by Reuters, Google has already approved the social media app of the former President of the United States (POTUS), Donald Trump, dubbed the Truth Social app.

No less than the spokesperson of Google confirmed that the renowned tech giant has given the Trump social media a go signal for its listing on the Play Store for Android phones.

Reuters notes in its report that Google added that the parent firm of Truth Social, Trump Media and Technology Group, is set to make its app available on the Android app marketplace in a while.
