Billionaire Dennis Tito bought SpaceX Starship tickets to fly around the moon for himself and his wife.

The entrepreneur and his wife will be part of the third passenger space flight of the Elon Musk tech giant, SpaceX.

As per the latest report by CNBC, the billionaire, Tito, previously flown as a private space tourist when he boarded a Russian rocket to go to the International Space Station or the ISS way back in 2001.

The 80-year-old entrepreneur is well-known as the first-ever space tourist. According to a news story by Space News, Tito spent roughly more than a week in space before returning to his home planet via the Soyuz spacecraft of Russia.

And this time, the billionaire is set to make his comeback to outer space.

Tito has reserved two seats in the upcoming passenger flight of SpaceX, wherein its Starship rocket would fly to the moon.

The first-ever space tourist, Tito, said in a press conference that he has "been wanting to go to the moon since [his] first trip to space."

CNBC reports that the billionaire is flying together with his wife, Aikiko, who is a pilot and a real estate investor. Given that, the news outlet notes that the couple is set to make a record as the first-ever married couple to have flown around the moon.

The entrepreneur reveals that there are still ten other seats on the Starship flight which are available for purchase.

How Much is the Starship Ticket?

A ticket to fly to space is assumingly astronomical in price, given that those buying tickets are well-known billionaires. However, when Tito was asked about the cost of the two seats on the Starship mission, he declined to disclose how much he spent on it, CNBC notes in its report.

The space venture of Musk, SpaceX, also failed to give details about the pricing of its tickets. However, the tech giant has confirmed that Tito and his wife are joining its second crewed mission to the moon.

The tech behemoth has also confirmed that a dozen passengers are flying around the moon for its next Starship mission.

But it is worth noting that the schedule for the said flight has yet to be publicly announced. As of writing, SpaceX has only confirmed two passengers.
