PlatinumGames revealed earlier this month that Hellena Taylor will not be returning to voice Bayonetta in its third installment, Bayonetta 3, citing "various overlapping circumstances."

However, there seems to be something deeper about this reason. The voice actress has now taken to social media to explain why she will no longer continue her role as Bayonetta, as reported first by Nintendo Life.

"Insult"

She revealed that she was only offered $4,000 to reprise her VA role for the new game, and she felt that it was an "insult" to her considering how long she's been working with the game.

Taylor also claimed that the franchise made an approximated $450 million...not including merchandise".

Taylor explained why she decided to do it, emphasizing that it is unacceptable for people not to be paid fairly for their talents. She also mentioned in the video that she had been dealing with mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety, which contributed to her having much darker thoughts.

She might have also violated an NDA, based on her statement:

"I am not afraid of the non-disclosure agreement, I can't even afford to run a car, what are they going to do? Take my clothes...good luck to them. Bayonetta always stands up for those with less power and stands up for what is right, and doing this you stand with her. Thank you".

In the third part of her message, Taylor provided additional background by noting how she auditioned for the part and "passed with flying colors."

After receiving the offer, she reportedly decided to get in touch with Hideki Kamiya to find out how much her talent was "worth," at which point the company made her an offer of $4,000.

"Decent, Dignified Living Wage"

Since 2009, PlatinumGames' action-packed video game franchise has been growing slowly but steadily.

It has almost covertly become a flagship franchise for Nintendo thanks to the publisher's acquisition of exclusive rights for the 2014 release of Bayonetta 2 and the upcoming October 28 release of Bayonetta 3.

The game's main attraction is Bayonetta, a sassy, elegant witch noted for her magical abilities and her sarcasm. Taylor has voiced this character for the most part, that is until a fellow seasoned voice actress Jennifer Hale took the role instead for the upcoming installment.

Taylor concluded her video by wishing Hale "all the joy in the world" but asserted that she had "no right" to assume the role because she was the one who created that character's voice.

"I am asking the fans to boycott this game and instead spend the money that you would spend on this game donating it to charity. I didn't want the world. I didn't ask for too much, I was just asking for a decent, dignified living wage."

"What they did was legal as it was immoral," Taylor said in her video.
