The National Basketball Association (NBA) and Amazon today announced a multiyear agreement to livestream NBA games exclusively on Prime Video in Brazil.  Prime Video will livestream up to 87 live regular season NBA games in the country during the 2022-23 NBA season, which tips off Tuesday, Oct. 18 when the Boston Celtics host the Philadelphia 76ers (7:30 p.m. ET) and the Los Angeles Lakers visit the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors (10 p.m. ET).

Prime Video will livestream up to four exclusive NBA games each week on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the 2022-23 regular season, in addition to up to 24 playoff games and a wide range of original NBA content throughout the season, including pre- and post- game shows, weekly programs featuring highlights, analysis and news, classic games, and other programming hosted by local celebrities and influencers.  Featuring live commentary in Portuguese from local announcers and on-air talent, NBA live games and programming will be available as part of a Prime Video subscription in Brazil.

The NBA reaches more than 45 million fans in Brazil through a wide range of programming, content and events, including NBA House 2022 presented by Budweiser, which was held in São Paulo during the NBA Finals.  During the 2021-22 season, the Jr. NBA - the league's global youth basketball program for boys and girls - reached more than 3 million youth in Brazil.  Additionally, there are 19 NBA-branded retail stores in Brazil offering a variety of official league and team merchandise. 

The live stream of NBA games on Prime Video in Brazil joins a growing lineup of live sports on the service globally, including Ligue 1 and Roland-Garros in France, Premier League football in the UK, ATP and WTA Tour tennis and Autumn Nations Series rugby in the UK and Ireland, UEFA Champions League football in Germany and Italy, Thursday Night Football and the WNBA in the U.S., New Zealand Cricket in India and more.  This year, Prime Video also streamed matches of Copa do Brasil in the country.
