The world of video games does not fall short of creepy, sinister, and disgusting-looking creatures. From demons, monsters, deformed humans, and the most macabre creatures you can ever think of - these videogame characters will keep you up at night even if you have subdued them in their games.

To keep the spirit of spooky season burning and howling, we will be rounding up ten of the scariest videogame characters that have popped up from our screens so far.

Let's start off with number 10!

#10. The Matriarch (The Evil Within)

The Matriarch is the game's final boss and one of The Evil Within's most terrifying enemies. She is a monstrous, horrifying, disfigured creature with boils all over her body. But most importantly, she is hard to beat in the game, which makes her extra creepy!

#9. Big Mother (GTFO)

The host body of Big Mothers has a split skull and rows of pointed teeth around its collar and is severely disfigured. It has additional appendages and large strengthened protrusions on its thorax to shield it from gunfire. The spinal cord of the monster likewise appears to be external to its body.

Some Silent Hill fans say that Valtiel is like the Pyramid Head without the helmet, and once he comes crawling into your screen, you might want to run away from his demonic figure!

The Seal of Metatron is affixed to both of Valtiel's shoulders, and she has a startlingly human appearance. She also has a leathery face that appears to have been sewn together and a matching butcher's apron.
