According to The Verge's Tom Warren, Phil Spencer's latest interview with the Wall Street Journal revealed new information regarding the Xbox Keystone's development from the company. In the interview, Spencer said that Keystone is a project between Samsung and Microsoft, which it previously internally incubated, another word for privately working on it.

9to5 Google said that according to Phil Spencer, the Xbox Keystone is "no more," and that the company will no longer work to develop the streaming device for televisions. However, in Spencer's words from Tom Warren, the company is only delaying the device's development, affirming that the company would work on it sometime in the future, filled with uncertainty.

Xbox and its Cloud Platform

One of Microsoft's most famous subsidiaries is its gaming department, the Xbox, and its cloud platform is among the highest-regarded experiences in the world. Apart from its massive focus on the gaming console, the company is also famous for its extensive library which it regularly updates for the many experiences for its constituents.

The company's streaming platform is also a place to gather knowledge as the Xbox Live Gold offers professional game development courses to the public, starting at $20.

With many offers available on its cloud platform now, Xbox seems to have it all for its experience for the public, but it still longs for one, and that is with the Keystone. It will focus more on the entertainment side of the company, focusing on game streaming to deliver to its potential users should it release the device for all.

However, it is not the current focus of Microsoft now, especially as it centers on other focuses at the moment, like its Cloud Gaming platform which sees 20 million lifetime players to date. Spencer's latest interview revealed the fate of the Xbox Keystone development, now heading to a dark path for its future of uncertainty.
