It's time for Sony to announce its top download charts for the month of October, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II snagging the top spot.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II was first released on PlayStation platforms on Oct. 28, generating a whopping $1 billion during its opening weekend, according to Push Square.

The top download charts for October were announced in a tweet from PlayStation's official Twitter.

Meanwhile, Overwatch 2 ranked first in the free-to-play download charts for both PS4 and PS5.

'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2' Sweeps the PlayStation Charts

The highly-acclaimed FPS game was bound to claim the top spot in October's PlayStation store sales charts, as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II made a buzzer-beater release before the previous month ended.

The latest shooter game developed by Infinity Ward immediately became the best-selling PS5 game for both USA and Europe servers. The shooter game managed to dethrone NBA 2K23, which topped the PlayStation charts for September.

Additionally, the top sales for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II comes before the release of its free-to-play counterpart, Call of Duty Warzone II so that FPS can watch out for the launch on November 16, according to The Loadout.
