Call of Duty Warzone 2 is almost upon us, and here is how you can prepare for its release on all platforms.

The stakes will be raised in the battle royale sequel to the most successful game in the previous two years.

Following the recent launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Activision Blizzard released Call of Duty: Warzone 2's official trailer just days before its official launch. Modern Warfare 2 was first released on PlayStation platforms on Oct. 28, generating a whopping $1 billion during its opening weekend.

The Battle Royale game will be available to play on platforms PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PS4, and PS5. Call of Duty players who are hyped to immerse themself in a brand new FPS experience are in luck, as the game's pre-download feature is now available, and here's how to load it for your platform.

Call of Duty Warzone 2: Release Dates, New Map, More

Call of Duty Warzone 2's release date is Nov. 16 across all available platforms, including PC, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles.

Warzone 2 will be the free-to-play counterpart of Modern Warfare 2. Additionally, Warzone 2 will also feature shared cross-platform progression and social features with Warzone Mobile. According to PureXbox, the game will launch alongside Modern Warfare 2: Season 1, which will add even more content across multiplayer and Spec Ops modes for the base game.

The launch of the battle royale sequel will also bring in a new map, Al Mazrah, which features a desert terrain featuring several environments, from cities to rivers and even small towns. The new map will reportedly feature aquatic combat, a third-person playlist, the ability to interrogate player-controlled foes to reveal locations of enemies, as well as two new in-game vehicles: the heavy chopper and Hummer EV.

Additionally, Call of Duty will launch the all-new DMZ mode, which gives FPS players an added experience of MMO and RPG in the game mode, according to XFire.

NME reports that several streamers who were given access to an early preview of Warzone 2 claim that the game will have a new tactical nuke feature for players to seize, which can be used to win a match.

How to Preload Call of Duty Warzone 2 on PlayStation, PC, Xbox

Fortunately for FPS fans on a budget, Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is a free-to-play game offering, so players will not need to purchase Modern Warfare 2 to play the battle royale game. For players who currently already own Modern Warfare 2, they will only need to download the Season 1 update to access all of Warzone 2's features alongside the additional content. According to EarlyGame, the file sizes for all platforms are as follows:

  • PC: 170 GB
  • PlayStation: 115 GB
  • Xbox: 115 GB

Players from all platforms can now access the preload feature starting Nov. 14 on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and Steam or Battlenet for PC players.
