Many users on the online car community, truck community, and bike community are sharing their sympathies toward Landen Glass.

For those who have no idea who this man is, he is a 20-year-old male who participated in the recent Raleigh Christmas Parade in North Carolina.

Unfortunately, his modified truck's brakes failed, which led to the death of Hailey Kaye Brooks, an 11-year-old female dancer, as reported by Fox News.

If you watch the videos on TikTok, you will see that Landen's truck has been modified. The most noticeable modification done to the vehicle is its wheels.

Various content showed that the truck's ground height was increased. Its wheels were also protruding on the sides.

Because of these, many people believed that the truck's modifications affected the brake efficiency of Landen's vehicle.

Some individuals said that Landen should not be blamed for the accident, especially when no inspection (as reported by SportsKeeda) was conducted before the pickup truck was used.

Can Truck Wheel Modification Affect Brakes?

Although a faulty brake caused the Raleigh Christmas Parade incident, Landen Glass was still charged with death by motor vehicle, careless and reckless driving, and improper equipment.

Can modifications reduce the efficiency of a car's brakes?

Pro-Link, Canada's insurance connection, stated that larger tires and engine mods could both affect the car's brakes.

These modifications will make it harder for the brakes to work. The agency added that any type of modification could increase the risk of collision.
