The doubloons (aka dabloons) are fictional currencies that migrated on TikTok way back in November 2022.
Know Your Meme explained that it began when people started posting black "4 dabloons" cat on Instagram in 2021.
After that, it became popular on TikTok in late 2022.

But, since these coins are not real currency, people can't purchase real-life items.
Although the main goal of the TikTok doubloon trend is somehow unclear, many users are still entertained.

Because of its popularity, the doubloons are even turned into a real cryptocurrency.
As of writing, the doubloon (DBL) is worth $0.0004781 each. When it comes to the amount, there are more than four million DBL coins in the cryptocurrency market.

Mashable explained that TikTok doubloons could be collected and lost at the same time. Users can acquire them if they come across posts offering imaginary coins.
