Google is making numerous enhancements to its browser-based search engine by adding a "scroll" down feature to help users get more results instantly. The additional pages won't disappear but with the new feature, they will become more discreet.

Google is Scaling Its Search Results by Allowing Users to See More Images

According to the story by Giz China, Google is increasing its search results to allow users to get more info when they search for something, adapting a social-media-like approach to how the results can be scrolled down.

Only a select few have access to this new feature, but Google plans to roll it out on desktop and mobile devices in the near future or over the course of several months. Users won't reportedly have to wait for years before the feature launches.

The Search Engine Adds a 'See More' Option for Users to View More Results

Adding "continuous scrolling" will be advantageous to the engine, allowing users to scroll down the page after entering a search term to obtain more data. By scrolling further, the user can view the equivalent of four more pages before reaching the end of the page they are currently on.

They only need to click the "See More" button to acquire more information if the user is interested. With the new update, the navigation is reportedly more visible and easier to use.

The Minor Changes Will Make the Search Result Similar to Those on Social Media Platforms

Google has not introduced a new concept with its recent change of displaying a list of topics related to a search query; rather, it has simply been refining something implemented since last October. This change makes it easier to browse and is inspired by social media platforms such as Tik Tok, Twitter, and Instagram, which have limitless threads.

Google constantly strives to improve its websites and software, introducing minor, incremental changes to maximize the user experience. For instance, the Messages app just became even better with the addition of new features, and the Pixel 7 has also recently been upgraded with an integrated VPN and improved call clarity.

Another Article Says Users Will Get Up to Six Pages

Despite the article by Giz China noting that users will only be able to scroll up to four pages, an article by The Verge says users will be able to scale up to six. If interested, the user only needs to click the See More button to acquire more information.

Since Google's mobile version has been offering a similar concept since last October, it's not a completely new idea for the search engine to draw inspiration from social media platforms with endless threads, such as Tik Tok, Twitter, and Instagram.

No Confirmation Regarding How Long It Will Take for the Feature to be Available for All Users

This new functionality is currently only accessible to a very small number of users. Google did not provide any other details on its deployment.

The deployment of the feature to the public may occur in the near future, or it may take several months. This serves to illustrate the Mountain View company's ambition to ensure that the desktop and mobile platforms are in sync.
