Based on a report by the Mashable, Mastodon creator Eugen Rochko noticed a sudden influx of users who have been using the app for the past months.

Between October and November, Mastodon saw that from 300,000 monthly active users, the number increased to 2.5 million. Most notably, more influencers and other personalities are testing the water with this app.

Considering that Mastodon is not that well-known compared to Twitter, it's interesting to see that the platform is booming. The recent growth of users from hundreds to millions is a clear sign that more users are flocking to it after the chaotic Twitter takeover.

Just a few days after Elon Musk bought the platform, Mastodon said that around 655,000 users have transferred to them. At one point, there was a time when new users also joined the bandwagon.

Mastodon posted an impressive number in November that's why the company has high hopes that it can sustain the momentum. With the continuous suspension of the accounts of notable people including journalists and bloggers, it's expected that users will continue exploring Mastodon in search of a new taste and user-friendly environment.

Meanwhile, 9to5Mac reports that Twitter started banning users who link their accounts to other social media platforms such as Mastodon and Instagram.
