Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Receives January 2023 Security Update

As per the latest report by Sam Mobile, the Galaxy Note 10 is ahead of other Galaxy phones. Samsung has started rolling out the January 2023 security update to its older flagship Android device.

The Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus users are now getting their hands on the latest security patch. Meanwhile, other Samsung phones have yet to receive their December 2022 security update.

Sam Mobile notes in its report that the update started rolling out to Note 10 series devices in Switzerland. With that, it seems that Samsung is also gearing up for its release to other European countries. As such, it might not take long before users in these nations get their hands on the January patch.

Besides the European region, the giant phone maker is likely dishing out the new update to more countries in various parts of the world in the next few weeks.

According to a recent news story by Android Police, the new security update carries the firmware number N970FXXS8HVL3 for Note 10 and Note 10 Plus users in Switzerland.

The news outlet notes that the tech giant has limited the security releases of its Note 10 series in recent times. However, this time around, the January patch first reached the aging Android phone. Interestingly, it outperformed the latest flagship of Samsung, the Galaxy S22.

It sure is quite strange. The South Korean firm has yet to explain why it happened.

On top of that, Samsung kept mum about what the new firmware update brings to the table. However, Sam Mobile notes that the phone maker might announce it in a few days or so. So it remains to be seen if the new update fixes critical vulnerabilities.
