Apple Store in India Likely to Open Soon

As per a report by The Verge, Apple is looking for employees in what seems to be its first-ever store in India.

As of writing, the tech giant has posted roughly a dozen job listings in the huge smartphone market, which includes senior managers, store leaders, business experts, and "genius."

It is worth noting that Apple Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tim Cook previously hinted that the giant phone maker is working to open its retail store in India.

The chief exec says "I don't want somebody else to run the brand for us." It comes as third-party sellers are currently responsible for selling their products in the country.

The Verge notes that the tech giant initially planned to open its brick-and-mortar store in India in 2021.

Apple's iPhone 5 hit stores in Hong Kong with queues of devotees undeterred by a lukewarm welcome from experts for the smartphone and complaints about its new mapping system.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic happened. And as such, it got seemingly pushed back this year.

Instead, Apple only debuted its online store in the country in 2020, allowing customers to purchase products straight from the tech behemoth.

Despite that, the Cupertino-based firm has yet to formally announce when it is beginning its retail expansion in India.
