Amazon officially rolls out its latest subscription-based streaming platform to deliver a new place for entertainment, and it is with the MGM+ experience. This new application centers on delivering a library of exclusive content, both with the Live TV and on-demand video experience that centers mostly on Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's production and distribution house.

This platform is the embodiment of the previously-known EPIX app, and it replaces the service now as the rebranded MGM+ platform, under Amazon.

After the $8.5 billion acquisition of Amazon of MGM's entirety, it bore a new streaming platform to replace its EPIX service that now centers on entertainment content called the MGM+. This was previously announced last year, but officially rolls out this January 2023 for all to subscribe, stream, and enjoy on their devices and homes.

It does not have an exact television app as of the moment, but it has a Google TV integration via Android TV, as well as an app within Apple TV+, Amazon Fire TV, and Roku.

Users may stream it from their smartphones and devices to cast on the bigger screens, says Amazon.

It also centers on original content like "Godfather of Harlem," "Billy The Kid," "Life as a Rolling Stone," and more. MGM+ also offers several films available like the James Bond series' "No Time to Die," "Skyfall," "For Your Eyes Only," and other shows like "Orphan: First Kill," "Smile," and others from its massive library.

The MGM+ app is now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

MGM+ Subscription Rates

MGM+ offers only two tiers on its plan, and it is either a monthly or annual subscription. Both features on-demand and live TV content with no ads for $7.99 per month, or a discounted $49.99 per year.

Amazon Streaming

The famous e-commerce company's take on streaming platforms centers on two services available for all, and one is the famed Amazon Prime Video which is its main OTT and live streaming hub. It delivers different content from thousands of movies, television series, Amazon Originals shows, live TV, and more from its library.

The platform features a variety of different content, and one of its largest shows here is "The Expanse," a novel sci-fi adaptation from Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck under the pseudonym James S.A. Corey. Some say that the show has massive flaws and received a significant backlash, but it still is one of the best the company has to offer.

Amazon also has Twitch as its live streaming hub, featuring games, lifestyle, and random content from its influencers.

Soon, the Seattle-based company will expand more of its streaming platform, particularly with Amazon Sports which will go on a standalone route from its Prime Video. The new MGM+ platform expands the company's portfolio for a new streaming hub that also delivers entertainment-based services for live TV and on-demand content, with a niche for MGM's content.
