Bridging the gap between a mid-range and entry-level segment, the upcoming POCO X5, and X5 Pro smartphones promise to provide a strong contender to established brands in the market.

The POCO X-series made its big debut with the POCO X2 based on the Redmi K30 series. The POCO X3 NFC, the first mid-range phone with a 120Hz refresh rate display, followed the X2.

According to Giz China's story, the POCO X3 Pro with the Snapdragon 860 was released months later. The POCO X4 Pro ditched the flagship SoC for something more mid-range to give it 5G capabilities.

Based on the popular Redmi devices, the POCO X5 Pro and X5 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G and 695 chipsets, respectively. OLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate and vast memory reserves will be available on either model.

POCO X5 Specs Include the MIUI 14 with Android 12 Operating Systems

With much of the same specifications as the Redmi Note family, the battery capacities are also expected to be around 5000mAh, combined with 67W fast charging. Regarding camera performance, the POCO X5 will sport a 48MP main camera with a 5MP depth sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro lens.

The new devices are expected to run on MIUI 14 with Android 12, according to Xiaomiui, which is an interesting surprise since the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition runs on Android 13. It's worth noting that these specifications have yet to be officially released by POCO, so there could likely be more features and upgrades announced at the fan meetup event.

In tuning its performance to the Redmi Note 12 Pro, the POCO X5 Pro shifts the settings to a 108MP primary sensor, clad with a 13MP ultra-wide lens and a 5MP macro and depth sensor.

While the exact price point of the POCO X5 series has yet to be revealed, the brand has managed to carve a niche for itself in the market, so consumers should expect attractive budget offers. The POCO X5 was spotted on AliExpress.
