Mutalk, a Bluetooth microphone with noise cancellation developed by Japanese firm Shiftall, is intended to make those loud gaming sessions more bearable.

Shiftall, founded in 2018 and now a subsidiary of Panasonic, focuses on technology for household appliances. However, in recent years, the company's focus has shifted to virtual reality (VR) equipment. These include MeganeX lightweight headgear and a variety of body trackers for VTubers or people interested in exploring the Metaverse, as reported by GameRant.

Why Should You Buy it?

The company's newest offering is named Mutalk. It addresses an issue many gamers face at some time or another: noisy play sessions that may annoy other people. Therefore, it may reach an audience beyond VR enthusiasts.

It features an automatic mute function. In a desk-down position, it will silence itself. When placed in the mouth, you will be able to communicate right away.

Bluetooth headphones with noise cancellation or isolation technology have been a standard gaming accessory for years, but their primary function is to muffle the sounds of the outside world.

Shiftall's Bluetooth soundproof mic will retail for roughly $200 when it finally launches in 2023. It is designed to aid not just the player but anyone close to them.

Mutalk, which drapes over the mouth and has straps that wrap over the head, resembles the Meta Quest VR headset but is much smaller.

Shiftall boasts that it can lessen loud yelling by up to 30 decibels and reduce an ordinary speaking voice by roughly 20 decibels, to the point that someone sitting at the same table will not be able to hear.

A lot of players indeed have trouble with noise, which is especially annoying to others trying to get some quiet when the game goes late. The extent to which this new product will be widely used remains uncertain.

What Are the Specifications?

Mutalk can be recharged using its USB-C connector and can last for around eight hours on a single charge. It also has a 3.5mm plug for headphones, so you can use it with your smartphone to make calls without bothering anybody around you.

The device has two cushions: one that props up your face and another that soaks up the sweat that can be taken out and washed. Even when worn for long periods of time, the gadget itself (without the headband) weighs just 6.4 ounces.

Strange yet Useful

It is not only Shiftall developing novel items that gamers may or may not find useful.

In 2022, Dyson released the Dyson Zone, a pair of noise-canceling headphones that double as an air purifier. The filter and two tiny air pumps are designed to be worn in front of the mouth, where they may trap and filter out dust, pollen, and other airborne particles that could cause irritation or illness.
