Google recently gave an update to the Meet video conferencing app to help presenters and participants to gain better access to files and links via the platform.

It aims to expand more of what Google has to offer on the Meet, and it allows everyone to obtain the shared items in the app that would no longer need to distribute after or before the meeting. Google's Workspace centers on giving everyone a chance for a more streamlined experience, with different features available for all.

According to a blog post from the Google Workspace Updates, Google Meet is to receive a new feature that would enable hosts and its audiences to access files and links easily on the platform. It also combines the different features from Google's Suite, for apps like Docs, Slides, Sheets, Gmail, Google Drive, and other compatible experiences.

The company's blog said that it will roll out in a few weeks' time, with Google currently working on its integration into the video conferencing app.

Its main feature is sharing the file that is currently being presented by the host, and it will come via the dedicated button, a floating action menu when presenting, or in the Meet chat.

As per Google's update (via 9to5 Google), every file share would notify participants in the meeting that the host uploaded the presentation or other documents. Moreover, files pasted on the Meet chat would automatically grant access to all the participants, especially if they are logged in via their Google account.

Users may also attach the file to the Calendar for easier access.

There is a dedicated "share in Meet chat" button on the lower right part of the screen for hosts to attach the files or links for participants to access.
