Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced in its memo two weeks ago that a mass layoff was about to happen.

The tech boss said that the firm would invest more in AI, which might affect many employees inside the company.

At that time, Pichai clarified that around 12,00 workers would be affected. Although it's difficult, it's the only decision to make for the whole organization.

With the decision, some Google employees who will be terminated soon posted their stories on TikTok. It's a mix of sad and happy emotions for some of them.

Axed Google workers have been sharing their personal stories about layoffs on TikTok lately.

According to a report by Gizmodo, some employees who will be laid off from Google posted their sentiments on TikTok.

While others will be staying in the company for good, some workers have a reason to vent their feelings towards the announcement.

Many former Google staff are vlogging their "layoff" journey on the video-sharing platform. They want the world to see how the company treats them despite their effort to contribute to their welfare.

As such, the subject "Day in the Life" of axed employees has become one of the most viral topics on TikTok. For years, this has been controversial on some social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

Anyone can feel extremely bad after a layoff, especially if they are the main providers of their families. Handling the situation is absolutely hard for the affected employees, and it might take some time for them to recover, as in the case of Nicola Tsai.

'Daily Life' of a Laid-Off Individual

According to The New York Post, Tsai shared his journey on Google and how the layoff affected his daily life.

As a TikTok vlogger, she was fond of uploading happy moments on the platform. This time it was the other way around.

"So I woke up to this really ominous text from my boss and I honestly had no idea what it was going to be about so I called her the minute I woke up and saw this," Tsai said in a TikTok video on Sunday, Jan. 29.

Furthermore, her boss informed her of the situation and urged her to check her email for the news. She attempted to access her official Google mail but found out she could no longer access it.

That's the time when she started to cry and wipe away her tears. Tsai also uploaded screenshots of chats from other employees who were kicked out of Google.

New Moments to Cherish

While some treat getting laid off as a problem, some workers think that it's a blessing in disguise. Rebekah Moran, a Google worker who spent nine years working in the company, said she would have more time with her kids.

Moran said that she would meet her two-year-old son and her baby soon. She believed it was now the time to "flourish during uncertainty."
