BBK Electronics Group has joined the foldable party with the addition of the OnePlus brand. The company behind the popular OnePlus One smartphone is about to enter the foldable market with the launch of the OnePlus V Fold and OnePlus V Flip. 

Leaker Says the New Phones Could be Released Soon as They are Tested in Different Regions

According to the story by Giz China, the information about the upcoming foldables was leaked by tipster Mukul Sharma who spotted trademark writings for the two monikers. Although there is no official confirmation about the launch, Sharma believes that the phones will be released soon as they are being tested in various regions, including Europe.

OnePlus has been expanding its product range, with the addition of smart TVs, smart wearables, and a tablet, the OnePlus Pad, which is launching on February 7th along with its first keyboard. With the introduction of foldable phones, the brand will further diversify its portfolio. However, there is no information about the specifications of the two foldables yet.

The brand's interest in foldable phones has been hinted at in the past. The software executive Gary Chen confirmed that OnePlus is working with Google for its future foldable phones, and in August, the brand's CEO Pete Lau shared an image of a hinge mechanism. The recent trademark writings for the OnePlus V Flip and V Fold indicate that the brand is preparing to enter the foldable market.

The Smartphones Could Compete with the Upcoming Honor Magic Vs

Another tipster Yogesh Brar, said that the upcoming OnePlus foldable will be based on the Oppo Find N2 series. This is not surprising, considering that OnePlus and Oppo are now essentially the same company.

The Oppo Find N2 Flip was released globally, while the larger device remained limited to the Chinese market. With the launch of the OnePlus V Fold, the brand will compete with the Samsung Galaxy Z series.
