Samsung's First Galaxy A14 5G Update is Now Rolling Out

Samsung Galaxy A14 5G got its first software update since it debuted in the United States and India.

While Samsung has yet to release the budget Android phone to other markets like Europe, a new update is now rolling out to its users in the US.

Samsung Galaxy A14 5G's First-Ever Update

Samsung is serious about dishing timely software updates these days to its Android phone offerings, from its high-end flagships to its popular budget-friendly devices.

And now, as per a report by Sam Mobile, the South Korean phone maker has started rolling out the first update for its all-new Galaxy A14 5G.

It is worth noting that Samsung debuted the A14 5G at CES 2023. And it is now available in the US and India.

In the US, the new budget-friendly phone hit the shelves last January 13, making it the first A series phone offering for 2023.

However, it might take a while before buyers in Europe could buy this new phone, as Samsung is expected to sell it in the region sometime in April.

What makes the Galaxy A14 5G astoundingly attractive is its cheap pricing. Wired reports that it slashed the pricing of its predecessor, the Galaxy A13, by $50, making it only $150.

Despite its recent debut in the market, the Galaxy A14 5G is getting a new software update. The latest release carries the firmware version code A146BXXU1AWA2.

But what does this new software update bring to the table?

What's New in Galaxy A14's First Update

The latest Galaxy A14 5G software update comes with the January 2023 security patch.

Sam Mobile notes that the new update offers bug fixes, security refinements, and other performance optimizations.

To be more precise, the security patch addresses several security vulnerabilities, which include flaws affecting the Secure Folder and Samsung Knox.

So it appears that A14 5G users would be highly beneficial in increasing the security of their brand-new devices by getting their hands on its first-ever software update. But how can they download and install it?

How to Install and Download Software Update

Similar to other Samsung Android phones, downloading and installing new software updates are pretty straightforward.

Before following the steps below, make sure that you are connected to a stable internet connection.

Once that is out of the way, head straight to the Settings app. Then, select the "Software update" option. From there, tap the "Download and install" button.
