Hungry for some authentic pasta dishes and some chili con carne tortillas? BOTS&POTS, the world's first restaurant that serves one-pot meals prepared by a robotic chef, has been serving customers in Zagreb, Croatia.
The robotic chef, called GammaChef, is capable of cooking over 70 different one-pot meals using digital recipes made by a human chef.
Automating Authentic Cuisine
The co-owners of the restaurant say that BOTS&POTS is the only place in the world where all ready-to-eat meals are made by robots, except for loading the ingredients into the robots.
These interesting machines can even add oil and seasonings based on the digital recipes, making sure that every meal cooked taste and looks the same, down to the very last pinch of salt.
''We have designed a restaurant that will best suit the younger population and that makes the most of the possibilities and qualities of robots. The goal is for guests to come first for the robot and the second and every next time for food.'' GammaChef maker Dražen Drnas told the local press.
Efficient and Cost-effective
Reuters reports that restaurant co-owner Hrvoje Bujas and his partners took seven years and over one million euros to turn their vision into reality and open the restaurant in 2022.
According to the same report, GammaChef, the robotic chef, is "taught" how to cook a meal by the restaurant's head chef, then remembers and can repeat it on command.
The robot cookers can each produce four meals in 15 minutes, or nearly 100 meals in an hour, making it a cost-efficient and speedy option for customers. GammaChef is a project developed by a Croatian team of food and engineering lovers.
Given the speed at which the robot can prepare meals and the savings it provides during staff shortages, Bujas has also stated that the restaurant is considering expanding its business model through franchises.

The ultimate aim is to create a space where customers can order, receive, and pay for food without coming into contact with a waiter, chef, or cashier.
