Windows 11 users have to rely on third-party software to activate RGB-lighting on their computer peripherals such as keyboard and mouse. Microsoft has no established ecosystem yet to enable this feature on its operating system in PC.

However, the latest report from XDA Developers might indicate that the company is working to bring this integration to all users who want to customize RGB lighting for their PC accessories.

This secret feature is yet to be unveiled and it's said to be kept in the Dev channel, particularly in the latest Insiders build.

Microsoft is currently experimenting to integrate RGB controls to Windows 11 so users can customize their peripherals without using any third-party software.

RGB-lit accessories often come with a special software from their manufacturer. This app will be your way to activate the RGB-lighting on your keyboard or headphones.

Although it's a good thing that some companies have this RGB lighting solution, it's not cross-compatible with other peripherals.

To install RGB controls on a keyboard, you first need to download the software on your PC. Assuming that you want to avoid installing any program on your computer, this could be a hassle process for those who want to save some space.

Earlier this week, Microsoft released the Windows 11 build 25295 on the Insiders channel. At the time, it remained inaccessible to the public. In the same channel, you can find a special feature where you can customize the brightness level and even the lighting effect and speed on your computer peripheral.

In another report by The Verge, Albacore, a Twitter user who saw glimpses of this Windows 11 feature, says that there's an update where you can soon match the RGB colors of your accessories to the color of your Windows.

With that being said, if you are using Logitech or any other peripheral brands, you don't need to install their native apps anymore just to access the RGB effects.

Microsoft will soon have the answer to this support. It will save you a lot of time by just exploring the settings to see what you will get from there.
