There is a new solar-powered charger in town, and what sets it out from the rest is its bi-directional DC-to-DC feature that allows one to draw power from electric vehicles to power one's home during an outage. Enteligent debuted this new EV charger which also claims to be faster than traditional ones, being a "world's first" in what it delivers.

EV chargers are mostly tapping on power grids to deliver the charge needed to replenish a car's battery, but this new technology aims to change the way people use charging in different places.

Enteligent unveiled its latest Hybrid DC Bi-Directional Fast EV Charger, and it is setting the stage for a new age of at-home or other locations' charging stations, centering on a solar-powered hybrid.

During the day, Enteligent's EV charger draws power directly from the Sun, claiming to deliver 13% more electricity from panels than traditional EV charging.

When sunset and night come, this is the only time it draws power from the grid to charge one's EV.

According to the company, it is three times faster than AC Level 2 DC chargers with 25 kW of fast DC charging but also promises to cost less for every charge by its users.

Enteligent said that these new EV chargers are coming the soonest, already launching in the Intersolar North America event in California, after its initial launch in Fall 2022.

Its recent achievement of raising $7 million in capital helped in the faster debut and commercialization of its product.

One of the most iconic features of this fast EV charger is its bi-directional output, centering on a DC-to-DC setup, which it claims as a world's first.

This feature means that while it can charge EVs from solar and grid power, it can also take power from the car's batteries to supply one's home in the event of an outage.

EV Chargers

EV charging at home may sometimes be a hassle, especially if one does not want to pay for the extra installation of readily-available tech to improve power delivery, using only the direct plug way. Additionally, not all houses and garages have readily-accessible plugs for EVs, which means that there may be hazards or risks present, as warned by the Sydney Council.

While users may hold out on charging their EVs on widely-available systems in the city or their region, it would also take them extra time to do this, instead of heading straight to their destinations.

Their only option now is to head to nearby charging stations or have one installed at home, which is currently offered by massive companies including Tesla and Electrify America

With the growing volume of electric vehicles in the world, and many adopting this clean energy transportation method, EV chargers are also things people need to invest in for their cars.

Enteligent offers a significant solution to this, but people would have to wait for its arrival later this year, to get this world's first charger that centers on a cleaner experience, and one that has their backs during outages.
