Many car enthusiasts even claimed that the Tesla Model 3 is the EV equivalent of the iPhone, indicating that the electric vehicle is top-of-the-line.

However, Forbes stated that if Tesla wants consumers to be interested in Model 3 for a long time, then the EV needs to have upgrades.

Tesla cars are displayed at a showroom in the Meatpacking district in Manhattan on June 6, 2018 in New York City. Tesla stock had its best day since November 2015 on Wednesday rising more than 9.5 percent after the company revealed it is nearing its Model 3 weekly production rate.

Aside from offering new upgrades, Project Highland is also expected to help Tesla cut production costs.

Although the giant automaker hasn't shared many details about this new EV, many individuals claimed to have spotted it.

Some of them said that the new Project Highland would have decreased interior components, as well as exterior changes.

These include refreshed front and rear designs and upgraded cameras from 1.2 Mpixels and 5 Mpixels. There could also be LED flicker mitigation.

Other Improvements of Project Highland

Aside from the mentioned exterior and camera enhancements, the EV maker could also integrate the Tesla FSD Hardware Version 4.0.

Recently, reports stated that this computer hardware will offer 12 camera inputs.

If this is true, then it would be more advanced than the current FSD version, which only has nine cameras. Not only that, but the new FSD 4.0 could also be four times faster than the FSD Hardware Version 3.0.

As of writing, fans are still waiting for the arrival of the Tesla Project Highland.

Electrek reported that some people already spotted this Model 3 refresh version in California. However, this prototype was in a heavy camouflage cover. If you want to see its actual photos, you can click this link.

The giant EV maker is also busy with its other new products and enhancing its existing products.

Previously, the new Tesla Cybertruck EV prototype, which has a massive windshield wiper design, was spotted.

We also reported about the sudden delay of Tesla FSD Beta v11, which was confirmed by Elon Musk. He added that it will be limited to Beta testers.
