'Elder Scrolls 6' Will Be an Xbox Exclusive, Sony Claims

According to a report by PlayStation Lifestyle, Sony now claims that the upcoming "Elder Scrolls 6" is going to be exclusive to Xbox consoles. It now dismisses early rumors, saying it might be released to the PS5.

Sony says "Microsoft is fond of arguing that, with its prior acquisitions, it did not make the existing, already released games it acquired exclusively to Xbox."

Game Rant reports that Microsoft has already signed a partnership, which should bring "Call of Duty" titles to various gaming platforms, at least for the next decade.

As of writing, the Xbox maker, which seeks to buy Activision, the makers of Call of Duty games, has signed deals with Nintendo and Nvidia. Not to mention it has forged a partnership with cloud gaming services like Ubitus and Boosteroid.

However, the PlayStation maker argues that the concern is with future "Call of Duty" games.

The Japanese gaming firm notes that "it is about the impact of Microsoft making new Call of Duty releases (which are launched every year) exclusive."

It is worth noting that Microsoft also reportedly reached out to Sony to forge a deal to bring "Call of Duty" titles in the next 10 years. However, the PlayStation maker refused to accept the offer.

And now, the Japanese giant is raising concerns about the possibility of future Call of Duty titles ending up as Xbox exclusives. Sony adds that it might follow the same route as "Starfield" and "Elder Scrolls."

The PlayStation maker notes that "Starfield" is set to be an Xbox and PC exclusive, following Microsoft's acquisition of ZeniMax.

And on top of that, Sony also believes that "The Elder Scrolls 6" is going to be an Xbox exclusive as well.

The Japanese firm admits that "it is beyond doubt that Game Pass is far ahead of PlayStation Plus."

And Sony thinks the gap between the two services will remain huge if the Microsoft and Activision deal pushes through. The PlayStation maker says that "Microsoft could manipulate the price of its license to weaken" the Xbox Game Pass rival.
