Google Pixel Watch March 2023 Update Starts Rolling Out

As per a recent report by XDA Developers, the March 2023 update for Pixel Watch notably introduces a new feature, none other than the Fall Detection option.

Some users have been looking forward to its arrival as Google teased its debut last February.

Besides the Pixel Watch update, the new Pixel 6 update for March 2023 has also started rolling out. The latest software release for the flagship Android phone lineup primarily focuses on bumping up the security of the Pixel 6 a, Pixel 6, and the Pixel 6 Pro.

What's New in Pixel Watch March 2023 Update

As mentioned, the latest Pixel Watch update offers a Fall Detection feature. Essentially, it allows users to reach out to emergency services if ever the wearable device detects a fall.

On top of that, XDA Developers notes that it also provides users an option to cancel contacting emergency services.

Apart from the Fall Detection feature, here are the other reasons why Pixel Watch users should get their hands on the March 2023 update.

9to5 Google reports that the new update introduces a new option to trigger the Digital Clock by simply pressing a button when the smartwatch is turned off.

Meanwhile, if you use the battery-saver mode quite often, the March 2023 release has something nifty for you. Users may now enable or disable the energy-saving feature with a single tap in QSS.

The display got better as well. The update improves the overall sensitivity of its touchscreen performance.

How to Install Update on Pixel Watch

Google constantly releases updates for the Pixel Watch and the Pixel Watch app, bringing new features and performance improvements to its users from time to time.

Thankfully, updating a Pixel Watch is pretty straightforward. With only a few things to keep in mind before doing so.

The Google support page notes that users need to charge their Pixel Watch for at least 50%, plug it in its charger, and connect the device to a Wi-Fi connection before attempting to download and install its latest software update. Once that is out of the way, here's how to go about it.

  • Open the Settings option on your Google Pixel Watch
  • Then, select "System update" to start downloading the latest software.

And that's it. The installation process should be complete after the device reboots.
