Nintendo Switch is one of the top-selling consoles of all time. The next-gen handheld is home to thousands of games, including the triple-A, indie, and other titles.

While the console is affordable to many people, some do not consider grabbing it. If you're one of those who want to play Switch games but don't have money to buy it, you can try playing them via a Switch emulator on your Android device.

With that, here are the best options if you're looking for a decent NS emulator.

Here are the best Android Switch emulators you can download on your smartphone if you want to experience playing NS-exclusive titles.

Nintendo Switch emulators are more popular on PC than on Android. That's why Windows users have three choices to choose from, including Yuzu, Cemu, and Ryujinx.

On Android, it's quite hard to emulate the performance of the emulator, given the limitations in specs and graphics card. It's understandable why many people opt to use Switch emulators on PC.

At the time, there were only two reliable Switch emulators you could use on Android. These are the Skyline Emulator and the Egg NS Emulator.

Skyline

Skyline is a trusted Switch emulator that can run a limited number of games, including "Cuphead," "Celeste," "Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid," "Rayman Legends," "Sonic Mania," and "Blasphemous."

This emulator is based on 64-bit ARM processors, which are standard for some present Android devices nowadays. So much for that, it uses Vulkan graphics rendering, which is designed for a more optimized mobile gaming experience.

If you're planning to download Skyline, we recommend you get smartphones with Snapdragon chips to get the most out of it.

Keep in mind that this emulator has two versions, including the regular Skyline and the Skyline Edge, which is the premium version that you can use if you are a Patreon backer. The latter version is better if you don't want to miss games on Switch.

Pros

  • Outstanding developer support
  • Decent Switch emulation

Cons

  • Not yet finished and is still in early development, so expect to see bugs and other glitches

Egg NS Emulator

Egg NS Emulator only came out in 2022 and some people are skeptical about when it was released. While it can run more games than Skyline, it's notable for game crashes.

The best thing about this emulator on Android is that it can run Pokemon games which are one of the most sought-after titles on the platform.

Currently, it supports 81 titles, yet not all of them are completely playable due to bugs. Before you are able to use it, you need to have a Nintendo-style controller.

What's concerning about Egg NS is that Google Play Protect won't permit it. The reason behind this is that the emulator collects the user's data upon download.

Fossbytes does not recommend users use this one, but you can give it a try anytime.

Pros

  • Green light for Pokemon gamers
  • Supports over 80 titles

Cons

  • Unstable due to game crashes
  • Sketchy subscription
  • Security concerns
  • Might violate the MIT open-software license because of the Yuzu code
  • Needs a very high-spec Android smartphone
