While this cat from Tampa Bay, Florida isn't truly the living dead, it has definitely been to hell in back.

Fox 13 reports that Ellis Hutson buried his cat after local veterinarians pronounced it dead. The cat, named Bart, was found by Hutson in the street in a pool of blood after being hit by a car. Huston took his feline friend to the veterinarian, but it seemed as if it was too late to save the animal.

So Hutson buried it, only to have the cat show up five days later. Neighbor Dusty Albritton then found the cat outside her door waiting to be fed. Talk about terrifying.

"You knew it was him because his face was messed up," Albritton says. "He is just sitting there looking at me purring, wanting food but obviously he couldn't eat. I was just in shock."

While Bart's mangled appearance and dead eye give it a zombified appearance, Bart is very much alive and well. He will be undergoing surgery and is expected to recover. He is currently in the care of the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, who says the cat may have regained consciousness after being buried and clawed his way out of his own grave. No word on how far under Bart was buried, but regardless it is quite an astonishing feat.

Bart may not have nine lives, but he definitely has two.
