XboxEra co-founder Nick Baker was the one who started this rumor during an XboxEra podcast, claiming that he had heard from a source that the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake could be announced soon at a PlayStation showcase. 

Windows Central Managing Editor Jez Corden has corroborated what Baker said, saying he had heard a similar rumor about Metal Gear and PlayStation. Corden also claims that Sony had secured a deal with Konami for the rights to not only Metal Gear but also to Silent Hill and perhaps even a new Castlevania game, per another tweet

Potential Launch of 'Metal Gear Solid 3' Remake as a PlayStation 5 Exclusive 

So far, it's been confirmed that Silent Hill 2 is set to release as a PlayStation 5 exclusive with a PC launch a year later. Like Cyberpunk 2077, gamers can look forward to the game launching on both the current-gen and next-gen consoles, but it will be Xbox console exclusive and first-party exclusive with Xbox Game Pass. 

The news of Metal Gear Solid 3's remake makes it an even more exciting prospect, and now, according to the report, it might launch as an exclusive to PlayStation 5. This rumor is yet to be confirmed or denied by Konami or Sony, but an upcoming PlayStation Showcase has been rumored to occur before the Summer Game Fest, which is scheduled to begin on June 8.
