Tech YouTuber Marquess Brownlee and other critics alike have criticised the Dyson Zone headset. Representing a unique form of wireless headset that also functions as a portable air filter, this device has a few key issues that could turn it from a gimmick to a serious health hazard.

Marquess Brownlee's Review of the Dyson Zone: 'The Dumbest Product I've Ever Reviewed'

According to the story by Dexerto, when Dyson unveiled their new headset, the Dyzson Zone, it promised a number of features. Wireless connectivity, active noise cancelling, and an air filtration system are all wrapped in a sleek package. 

Unfortunately, the device appears to fall short of its promises and long on problems. Tech YouTuber Marquess Brownlee recently reviewed the Dyson Zone headset, and his opinion was that it was "the dumbest product I've ever reviewed".

Brownlee takes the headset to fellow YouTuber Doctor Mike, who critically explains the flaws of the headset. Firstly, the air filter on the headset has no seal and only filters to 0.1 microns, meaning particles in the air could enter the mask and be exhaled out of the headset. 

Compounded with the headset's noise-cancelling capabilities, this could create more problems than it solves. Doctor Mike also explains how the air filtration system blowing air into the user's nose and mouth can dry out the mucus membranes on their body, which could allow harmful pathogens to enter their system. 

Weight of the Dyson Zone: Unnecessary Strain on the Neck 

In addition, Brownlee takes the headset into a portable toilet, which indicates that the air filtration system isn't able to appropriately filter out faint odors, let alone larger particles. Furthermore, the device has a significantly large weight--588 grams--which can place unnecessary strain on someone's neck. 

Considering the numerous problems with the headset, it's understandable why Brownlee advises, "No one should buy it, and no one probably will buy it". The Dyson Zone carries a premium price tag of $500, making it a hard sell to anyone, especially considering the aforementioned device flaws.

A Lack of Usability and Practicality: The Dyson Zone Headset 

The design and implementation of the Dyson Zone headset are concerning, and it appears that Dyson could have perhaps put a bit more thought into exactly how the device would function. The company's official announcement shows Fans more about the Dyson Zone.

Ultimately, the only fine that the headset provided was the fact that it offers great audio quality. While the mask's design is unique and perhaps cyberpunk-looking, it's a shame the product's singular selling point ultimately fails to break through.

Overall, the Dyson Zone headset is a gadget that may have good intentions but terrible outcomes. This novel technology is just not quite there yet in terms of practical functionality, and users should take extra precautions and use their own discretion when considering if such a device is necessary for their everyday life.
